STYLING FOR RENEGADE
As the Fashion Director for Renegade Magazine—Syracuse University's only Black general-interest publication—I champion the diversity of the African Diaspora through intentional model casting and inclusive styling practices. My team curates clothing and accessories from personal collections and local partners, such as Black Citizen's Brigade, to create compelling and cohesive looks. By assembling a team that reflects a variety of perspectives and sizes, we ensure that all models are styled comfortably and authentically. Below, you'll find the titles of each photoshoot, accompanied by a selection of photos and my personal insights.
SPADES

This was my debut photoshoot as Fashion Director for Renegade Magazine, drawing bold inspiration from animal prints and the iconic style of 1970s Blaxploitation films.
TIM BURTON INSPIRED HALLOWEEN SOCIAL'S PHOTOSHOOT

This Instagram-exclusive Halloween photoshoot was inspired by Tim Burton’s signature quirky aesthetic. I crafted a whimsical "bride-and-groom" look, loosely drawing from the titular director's aesthetics.
SOUL TRAIN

This photo shoot was a personal favorite. My love for vintage fashion made it especially exciting to style models of diverse body types and modesty standards. Growing up, I often watched my parents’ Soul Train CDs, and this project was my way of celebrating the era’s unique blend of style, individuality, and personality.
DRAFT DAY

I collaborated with the store Black Citizen's Brigade to create a draft day-inspired photoshoot. While the original concept featured five men representing a team, one model unexpectedly no-showed on the day of the shoot. Thankfully, the photographer’s wonderful assistant stepped in as a model. With some quick thinking, I borrowed my Editor-in-Chief’s sweater, styled it backward to mimic a turtleneck, and crafted a stylish oversized suit moment that perfectly fit the theme.
